3-Day Mount Meru Climbing Itinerary Day 1: Momella Gate to Miriakamba Hut After breakfast, drive to Momella Gate for registration and meet your mountain guide and armed ranger. Begin your trek through beautiful montane forests, where you may encounter giraffes, buffaloes, and other wildlife. Enjoy the scenic landscapes along the way before arriving at Miriakamba Hut for dinner and overnight. Day 2: Miriakamba Hut to Saddle Hut After breakfast, continue climbing through beautiful forest and heathland towards Saddle Hut. Enjoy spectacular views of Mount Meru and the surrounding landscapes. After lunch and some rest, take an optional acclimatization hike to Little Meru before returning to Saddle Hut for dinner and overnight. Day 3: Summit – Socialist Peak and Descent Begin your summit attempt around midnight, climbing towards Rhino Point and onward to Socialist Peak (4,566 metres). Enjoy breathtaking sunrise views and spectacular scenery from the summit. After celebrating your achievement, descend via Saddle Hut and Miriakamba Hut towards Momella Gate, where your vehicle will be waiting.
